This was The Surprise. I took the opportunity to show my undying love for Ginny on our wedding day, by attempting to swallow this microphone whole. Actually I was belting out a song I wrote with Ming, just for her. It was very difficult to write something so personal and it took months of brain-numbing lying around in bed thinking about it. Friend Martin helped to polish up the not-very-professional number, so I wouldn't look like a major dork, just a minor one. Ginny tried not to cry but when Josephine, her bridesmaid, let go tears, Ginny caved in. My mother, unused to this unabashed show of talent and romance in her son, broke out laughing.
